QUESTION: Several of us who live in Longview have made multiple inquiries to U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran性视界传媒檚 office asking when and where he will have a town hall. We have not received responses. I性视界传媒檓 frustrated that our congressman is not responding to our requests.

ANSWER: When I received your question, I enquired about whether there are plans for a town hall as well. A staff member in Moran性视界传媒檚 Longview office said the office has received a number of calls requesting a town hall meeting, and Moran性视界传媒檚 Communications Director Julie Braymer said they are in the process of putting together plans for town halls and other events. The details haven性视界传媒檛 been finalized, she said.

性视界传媒淭hose are going to happen,性视界传媒 Braymer said, saying the Washington, D.C., office had received a 性视界传媒渇ew calls性视界传媒 requesting town hall meetings.

性视界传媒淭his is something the congressman cares a lot about,性视界传媒 she said, and plans to continue offering.

I should add, though, that she said telephone town hall meetings are a possibility as well.

She said Moran性视界传媒檚 office would notify the News-Journal when something is scheduled, and of course we性视界传媒檒l publicize that.

Some in-person town hall meetings haven性视界传媒檛 gone well for Republicans in other parts of the country, with people expressing concerns about Elon Musk and the mass firings of some federal employees, potential cuts to programs such as Medicaid and the war in Ukraine.

President Donald Trump has falsely said Ukraine started the war, and his apparent relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin and diminishing support for Ukraine is rewriting America性视界传媒檚 longstanding relationships with NATO allies. GOP leaders have advised Republican Congressional lawmakers against holding in-person town halls, according to news reports.

Q: Years ago, I was able to buy what I think are called 性视界传媒渆nd rolls性视界传媒 性视界传媒 the last bit of newspaper on the roll. Is that still a thing?

A: Yes, that is still a thing. Those end rolls typically cost about $2.50 each. You can purchase them in our lobby at 320 E. Methvin St. Our receptionist, Kim Brockwell, will be happy to help you.

Q: I have some pecan wood I kept after cutting down a tree. Do you know how I can find someone who would make me a bowl, spoon, or cutting board from it?

A: I can性视界传媒檛 recommend businesses, but I can tell you how I performed a Google search that came up with some possibilities for you to contact:

Search for 性视界传媒渃ustom woodworking Longview,性视界传媒 or substitute other city names 性视界传媒 Kilgore, Gilmer or Gladewater, for instance. You性视界传媒檒l find some possibilities that way.
