BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A Bethlehem woman is facing charges in connection with a hit-and-run crash that happened in May.

Authorities have charged 63-year-old Treiza Habib with an accident involving injury or death, leaving the scene, tampering with evidence, and failing to report an accident.

According to court records, a driver hit a pedestrian in the 2100 block of Industrial Drive and fled before officers arrived.

In an affidavit obtained by 69 News, on May 15 around 10:15 p.m., Treiza Habib was driving a light blue 2012 Honda accord on Industrial Drive in Bethlehem, hit a man in the road, and failed to stop or render aid.

Minutes later Habib arrived to work at B. Braun Medical and is seen on surveillance video inspecting the damage to her car, then walking into work.

The 46-year-old victim remained unconscious in the road before being rushed to the hospital ICU with multiple injuries requiring surgery.

According to court documents, while Habib was at work, her husband and son arrived and were seen on surveillance video moving her car to their home in Bethlehem and parking it in the backyard to hide the damage.

Police were able to find the car because the victim's cell phone was lodged near the windshield and was tracked to Habib's home.

All three suspects were questioned by police the next day and Habib admitted to striking a black shape on her way to work, panicked, and continued to drive, authorities said.

Habib's husband and son are listed as co-defendants in the affidavit.
