U.S. President Donald Trump misunderstood a question from a reporter Tuesday during a press conference at Florida性视界传媒檚 new 性视界传媒淎lligator Alcatraz性视界传媒� immigrant detention camp and said New York City socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani could be arrested and could be in the U.S. illegally and illegally.

The detention camp for immigrants arrested for being illegally in the U.S. is located in the Florida Everglades swamp, famous for its alligators and pythons.

Trump and Republicans have continued to focus on former U.S. President Joe Biden性视界传媒檚 cognitive state and mental acuity during his term in office. Biden性视界传媒檚 bumbling performance at a 2024 debate against Trump and other events led to his exit from the presidential race.

Democrats replaced Biden with Vice President Kamala Harris, who lost to Trump.

Biden性视界传媒檚 acuity has been a frequent point of contention for Trump and his conservative supporters.

At the same press conference, Trump also threatened to arrest Mamdani, a socialist New York City mayoral candidate who won the Democratic primary earlier this month, if he tries to block enforcement of federal immigration laws.

Mamdani, who faces New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Republican Curtis Silwa in the general election, wants to pay for his agenda via increased corporate income taxes and a new 2% tax on those making more $1 million annually.

Mamdani was born in Uganda and his family moved to New York when he was a child.
