Voters in Gregg, Upshur, Harrison, Rusk and Titus counties headed to the polls to fill elected positions and vote on tax and school bond measures during SaturdayÐÔÊӽ紫ý™s elections.

Polls closed at 7 p.m. Some results are final, while others are unofficial. The percentage of the overall vote is listed for each candidate. If the candidate was unopposed, no percentage is listed.

Big Sandy

Big Sandy ISD board

Two seats on the board were to be filled, so the top two vote-getters are the winners.

â–  Won: Hollie De La Cruz: 138 votes, 40.71%

â–  Won: T J Wigington: 78 votes, 23.01%

â–  Lost: Jason Sheeley: 65 votes, 19.17%

â–  Lost: Will Brahic: 58 votes, 17.11%

Mayor:

â–  Won: Linda Baggett: 86 votes, 81.13%

â–  Lost: Esther Jackson: 20 votes, 18.87%

Gregg County

ESD 3 Emergency Services District No. 3 tax proposal

Voters in Gregg County Emergency Services District No. 3, which includes the northern and northeastern parts of Gregg County, approved a sales tax increase of 1.5% with a vote of 109 in favor (51.66%) to 102 against (48.34%). The emergency services district funds the Judson Fire Department.

Harrison County

ESD 1 Emergency Services District No. 3 tax proposal

Voters in Harrison County ESD No. 1, which includes eastern parts of Longview and western parts of Harrison County, rejected a sales tax increase of 2%, with 121 votes against the measure (59.61%) and 82 votes in favor of the measure (40.39%). The emergency services district funds the West Harrison Fire Department.

City of Kilgore

Mayor:

â–  Won: Ronald E. Spradlin III, 504 votes, 50.91%

â–  Lost: Darrin Mallett, 486 votes, 49.09%

City Council Place 2:

â–  Alan VanDoren (unopposed), 827 votes

Kilgore ISD Board Place 5:

â–  Won: Johna Tritt, 836 votes, 74.38%

â–  Lost: Ubaldo Meraz, 288 votes, 25.62%

Kilgore ISD Board Place 6:

â–  Rachel Harrington (unopposed), 1,029 votes

Kilgore ISD Board Place 7:

â–  Won: Dana Sneed, 600 votes, 51.33%

â–  Lost: Rudy Galvan, 569 votes, 48.67%

Kilgore College Board of Trustees Place 8 (North Zone):
