Students from Longview, Pine Tree and Spring Hill ISDs and almost 30 other area school districts danced the day away Friday at the East Texas Special Needs Prom in Longview.
The students were given a red-carpet welcome at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center before activities started.
Students with disabilities might not be able to participate in their schools性视界传媒 individual proms for various reasons, but for about 25 years, the special needs prom has helped fill that void for students from numerous East Texas schools.
性视界传媒淪tudents with disabilities, they strive for a level of independence,性视界传媒 Kathy Musick, student services coordinator for the special education office in Upshur County, said during the 2024 prom. 性视界传媒淭hey want to be like their [general education] peers, and this is one of the events that they can come, and they can show their independence out on the dance floor over here. All we性视界传媒檙e doing is basically monitoring and getting to be a part of their experience today.性视界传媒
