MUNFORD, Tenn. - A Tipton County man is facing multiple sex crimes against children charges.
The grand jury has returned a 51-count indictment against 34-year-old Scotty D. Tice of Munford.
The Tipton County District Attorney Mark Davidson said the charges include rape of a child, continuous, sexual abuse of a child, and aggravated kidnapping to name a few.
"These are very serious charges," Davidson said. The DA told FOX13 that Tice was arrested at his home in Munford in March but the Grand Jury returned the indictment at the end of June.
The investigation into the allegations spans months and was conducted by the Munford Police Department. Both Davidson and Munford's chief of police, fear there may be more victims who have not come forward to tell their stories.
"We understand that coming forward in cases like this may be incredibly difficult; however, we strongly encourage anyone who may have been a victim or any relevant information related to Tice to contact our department," Munford Police Chief Randall Baskin said.
Davidson said the indictment does not involve a lone victim. There Are multiple victims alleged in the indictment and, as the Munford Police Department said, "we would encourage anyone with information about this case and other possible victims, to please contact the Munford," Davidson said.
Tice remains in the Tipton County jail. No bond was granted in his case. The DA said if Tice is convicted on all 51 counts, he faces the maximum sentence of life in prison without parole.
