State Rep. Jay Dean has announced he will seek his sixth term in the Texas House representing House District 7.

性视界传媒淲e achieved real results this legislative session, and I look forward to building on our success,性视界传媒 said Dean, R-Longview. 性视界传媒淓ast Texas deserves a strong voice in Austin聽性视界传媒 someone who understands our values, listens to our communities, and gets things done.性视界传媒

House District 7 includes Gregg, Harrison, and Marion counties. Dean won his fifth term in November.

性视界传媒淚 want to ensure rural East Texas continues to have a strong voice in the Capitol,性视界传媒 he said. 性视界传媒淚性视界传媒檓 proud of what we性视界传媒檝e accomplished, but we性视界传媒檙e just getting started. Eliminating property taxes for all Texans is my top priority聽性视界传媒 and I look forward to leading that charge.性视界传媒

In his reelection announcement, Dean listed several accomplishments from the recently ended legislative session:

Securing "$51 billion in property tax relief for Texas families; $3.5 billion in new border security fundings, record investments in public education, including teacher raises; and a statewide ban on DEI programs in Texas public schools."

A statement from Dean also said he passed almost a dozen bills "to prevent foreign control of Texas aquifers, protect rural water access, and preserve local control over vital water supplies."

Dean said he has been endorsed by President Donald Trump and Gov. Greg Abbott.

Dean so far has one challenger in the March Republican primary. Melissa Beckett of Longview announced her candidacy earlier in June.
