The Walmart Supercenter on Loop 281 at Fourth Street will see a 9,000-square foot expansion to accommodate online order pickups.

The city of Longview this month issued a building permit for the work, which will total almost $2.5 million.

In addition to the expansion, the permit says dressing rooms will be relocated and the bathrooms, pharmacy, vision and money centers and break room will be remodeled. A mother性视界传媒檚 room and family restroom will be added at the rear of the store.

New digital signs, cleaning and painting walls and other work also are part of the overall project.

Food truck opens

A new food truck celebrated its grand opening Thursday in Longview.

Regina Jamerson is owner of It性视界传媒檚 a Vibe Kitchen and Catering. Her sister, Freda Wobberton, is handling most of the cooking. Wobberton also has previously operated a food truck and restaurant.

The grand opening was in the parking lot of 401 S. Mobberly Ave. at the site of the restaurant that Wobberton previously operated. The food truck will regularly be stationed there, but it will be at other locations, too. Jamerson said location updates will be provided on the food truck性视界传媒檚 Facebook page, .

Jamerson already owned a tax business and trucking company.

性视界传媒淚 decided to get a food truck and bring some good food to Longview,性视界传媒� she said, adding that she had the food truck built to order. 性视界传媒淚性视界传媒檓 getting ready to share with the community.性视界传媒�

性视界传媒淚 come from a family that cooks,性视界传媒� Jamerson added. The food trucks offers home-cooked meals and an alternative to fast food, she said.

性视界传媒淚 want to bring to the city some good homemade food that everybody is going to love.性视界传媒�

The food truck is open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday for 性视界传媒淪oul Food Sunday.性视界传媒�

The menu offers chicken, fish, salads, nachos, hamburgers, tacos and more. The business also offers turkey items for people who don性视界传媒檛 eat pork, Jamerson said, including turkey chops, turkey burgers and turkey wings.

性视界传媒淚t性视界传媒檚 just a variety of food with different flavors,性视界传媒� Jamerson said.

Gift shop re-opens

The Longview Arboretum and Nature Center性视界传媒檚 gift shop has reopened with a new focus.

The Gifting Tree previously focused on gardening tools and similar items, said Courtni Calhoun, business manager for the arboretum.

性视界传媒淲e wanted a new direction at the end of 2023,性视界传媒� she said, and the gift shop closed for the first quarter while the nonprofit organization prepared for the change.

Now, the store is stocked with nature-themed items, with children性视界传媒檚 toys, books and educational items as well as home decor including bird houses and bee mugs.

性视界传媒淲e tried to make it more like a gift shop,性视界传媒� Calhoun said.

The Gifting Tree is open the same hours as the arboretum, which are 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday during the summer.

DG Market opens

Dollar General has opened a new DG Market at 3016 Estesville Road in Longview.

The new store features an expanded selection of fresh meats, fruits and vegetables as well as the same categories, brands and products customers typically find at Dollar General.
