A Longview ISD student off-campus has been charged with terrorist threat after making "continuous threats," according to Longview police.

Police said the student was transported Wednesday to the Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center.

"The Longview Police Department remains committed to thoroughly investigating all threats toward or on school campuses," police said in a statement. "Appropriate charges will be pursued in every case to ensure the safety of students, staff and the community.

"The Longview Police Department works closely with all our school districts and would like to tahnks Longview ISD administration and staff for their assistance in this case."

Police did not identify which Longview ISD campus the student attends or provide other details about the threat or threats.

Terrorist threat is a third-degree felony.
