A suspect fleeing Gregg County sheriff性视界传媒檚 deputies was killed Tuesday when his car crashed during a high-speed pursuit.

On March 21, Gregg County Sheriff性视界传媒檚 Office investigators identified Mario Tywan Martin, 47, as a suspect in a domestic stalking case, according to a statement from the sheriff性视界传媒檚 office. An arrest warrant was obtained on a charge of burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit other felony.

At about 7 a.m. Tuesday, patrol deputies observed who they believed to be Martin. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the loop in Gladewater, but Martin fled at a 性视界传媒渉igh rate of speed性视界传媒 into Upshur County on U.S. 271 with officers in pursuit, according to the statement.

Once the vehicle pursuit entered Upshur County, Upshur deputies attempted to deploy tire spikes but were unsuccessful after Martin saw the deputies and turned around, the statement said.

Martin then continued east on FM 726 and entered into the intersection of Texas 300 where he hit a truck.

The passenger in the truck had minor injuries, but Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.
