An assistant basketball coach at Elgin High School, near Austin, has been released from the Gregg County Jail on charges that he had an improper relationship with a student and possessed child pornography.
Devin Ryan Anderson, 26, was arrested Monday in Gregg County on warrants issued here. Specific details about the charges were not immediately available.
Online information from the Gregg County Jail dates the relationship charge to an Oct. 17 incident. The possession of child pornography charge is dated to the day of his arrest Monday.
He was released from jail Tuesday on bonds totaling $55,000.
Anderson also previously served as the head boys basketball coach at Cumberland Academy in Tyler.
His address in jail records is listed as Manor, near Austin. Elgin High School is about 15 minutes from there.
