Multiple agencies worked together to arrest Hall. On Wednesday evening, a Tyler Police Department officer made a traffic stop on a car with five people inside, including Hall, who had an arrest warrant on an unrelated assault. Hall was armed with a handgun, and an AR15 rifle also was found in the back seat of the car. Both firearms were determined to be stolen, according to the Smith County Sheriff性视界传媒檚 Office.
Smith and Rusk County detectives, along with Texas Rangers, interviewed Hall, who they said was uncooperative. Hall was later booked into the Smith County Jail.
In the jail, Hall was overheard making a phone call to his sister, Rachel Toole. Hall told Toole she needed to 性视界传媒渃lean up性视界传媒 because he was in jail.

At that time, Smith County Sheriff性视界传媒檚 Office detectives joined the investigation.
Detectives executed a search warrant Thursday for a home in Smith County. On the evening of the murder, witnesses said they heard gunshots while Hall and Anderson were outside of the home.
During the execution of the search warrant, several shell casings and bullets were found on the property. Some of the bullets appeared to be the same green tip bullets that were loaded in the stolen AR15 found in the vehicle with Hall when he was arrested on the warrant in Tyler.
Also during the search, law enforcement officers spoke with Hall性视界传媒檚 mother and Poole. During interviews, it was determined that on the evening of the murder, Hall had been hanging out with his friends, one of whom is a 16-year-old juvenile, and a woman named Jasmine Williams. It was also reported that a witness overheard the group talking about doing a 性视界传媒渞ip,性视界传媒 which means to rob someone, according to the Smith County Sheriff性视界传媒檚 Office.
A Smith County juvenile probation officer obtained a directive to apprehend the 16-year-old juvenile for his participation in the murder. The juvenile was found at an apartment complex on Shiloh Road in Tyler and was transported to the Smith County Juvenile Detention Center.
An additional directive to apprehend was applied for the juvenile for the offense of capital murder, according to the Smith County Sheriff性视界传媒檚 Office.
After locating the 16-year-old, detectives learned the residential address for Williams to be in the 16000 block of Shoshone Drive in Tyler. A search warrant was obtained to search Williams性视界传媒 residence for evidence relating to the homicide. One item of clothing was seized from the location for forensic analysis, according to the Smith County Sheriff性视界传媒檚 Office.
