* Flash Flood Warning for...
Eastern Gregg County in northeastern Texas...
Harrison County in northeastern Texas...
Southern Marion County in northeastern Texas...
Northwestern Panola County in northeastern Texas...
Northern Rusk County in northeastern Texas...

* Until 500 PM CDT.

* At 121 PM CDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy
rain on Highway 80 between Marshall and Hallsville. Between 2 and
2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1
to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Longview, Marshall, Kilgore, Hallsville, Jefferson, Tatum,
Beckville, Harleton, Woodlawn, Karnack, Lakeport, Easton,
Scottsville, Uncertain, Nesbitt, Darco, Chalk Hill, Judson,
Stewart and Monroe.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

- At 10:45 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 6.8 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this evening to a crest of 12.1 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall below flood stage Friday
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
12.1 feet on 12/20/2017.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Arkansas, including the following
counties, Columbia, Lafayette and Miller, northwest Louisiana,
including the following parishes, Bossier, Caddo, De Soto and
Webster, and Texas, including the following counties, Angelina,
Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion,
Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Upshur
and Wood.

* WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop
today through Thursday in association with an area of upper
level low pressure across Texas. This may lead to excessive
rainfall with amounts between 1-3 inches and isolated higher
totals in excess of 4 inches possible during this timeframe.
