QUESTION: I voted today for the November general election. Why do we have photo voter ID when the people working the election never verify or look at your photo?

I presented my driver性视界传媒檚 license with photo face down. The person never turned the license over to look, just put it into the scanner with photo on the side facing down and asked me if information was correct and, if so, to sign. This also happened with my husband.

Is this how it is suppose to work?

ANSWER: No, it is not. You can deal with concerns while voting by immediately contacting the Gregg County Elections Office at (903) 236-8458 or by asking to speak to the election judge on site.

Gregg County Elections Administrator Jennifer Briggs said election workers are supposed to look at the photo ID to confirm that the person about to vote looks like the person on the ID and verify whether the address in the system is correct.

性视界传媒淭hey are trained to do that in training, and it is in the manual at the polling place,性视界传媒 Briggs said. 性视界传媒淲e do have a lot of seasoned election workers, but with this election being as large and as record-breaking of a turnout as it is, we added a lot more election workers with our seasoned workers. We have some new ones. They should be looking at the driver性视界传媒檚 license to check.性视界传媒

The amount of information election workers have to absorb during training can be overwhelming, she said, which is why she tries to ensure seasoned workers are paired with new workers.

She said voters should immediately take steps to address concerns they have about anything that happens at a polling station.

If someone experiences something like that at a polling place, or something else that is concerning, she said people should contact her immediately at her office at (903) 236-8458.

If she性视界传媒檚 not there, she will return a message or you can ask to speak to her assistant.

Voters also may report issues on-site to the election judge.

性视界传媒淚t性视界传媒檚 very important to me that the safety and security of our election is followed to the 性视界传媒楾,性视界传媒櫺允咏绱綕 Briggs said.

性视界传媒淥ur highest priority is to make sure that we have a safe and secure election. If there性视界传媒檚 anything, please contact me immediately so I can handle it immediately.性视界传媒

She also said she would notify election workers about the issue.
